The four troop commands
| Command | What the squad does |
| Follow | Trails behind your character as you move |
| Hold | Stays on a fixed spot and defends it |
| Attack | Engages a target you designate |
| Rush | Charges forward aggressively |
| Formation | Best use |
| Shield Wall (Hold Position) | Defensive — Shieldmen lock together to blunt a push or protect a taken point |
| Triangle | Offensive — concentrates a charge on one spot; suits fast units like Scout Riders |
Shield Wall is tied to holding position, so it pairs naturally with the Hold command when you are trying to keep a captured point. Triangle works in the opposite direction, driving a charge into one spot. Pick based on whether you are defending a point or breaking into one.
Holding is the exact command the tutorial tests you on: when the objective warns of an incoming enemy push, select Hold and let the troops absorb the charge instead of chasing.
