Command An Army Beginner Guide

Direct answerFinish the tutorial, pick a class, then choose your starter troops (Mercenary, Shieldman, Spearman or Archer). In a match, use the four commands — Follow, Hold, Attack, Rush — to move your squad onto Capture Point A, then B, then the Base. Recall that Hold is the command the tutorial tests you on, and your Star Limit caps what you can field.
The battle flow
- Finish the tutorial — it walks you through all four commands and spawns Knights to break a gate.
- Pick your class: Assassin, Sword & Shield, or Hammer. It decides how your own character fights.
- Choose your starter troops from Mercenary, Shieldman, Spearman and Archer.
- In a match, move your squad to Capture Point A, then B, then the Capture Base.
- Use Hold when the objective warns of an incoming enemy push — let the troops absorb the charge.
Your first class
Your class changes your personal damage and survivability, not your troops. You are not locked into your first pick, but changing class costs 50 gems — the same currency as summoning — so treat an early switch as a real spend.
Starter troops vs summoned units
The starter pool (Mercenary, Shieldman, Spearman, Archer) carries you through your first matches, but they are ordinary units. Stronger troops come from the summoning system — the Standard Banner — rather than from upgrading what you start with. However, the Star Limit caps what you can actually field.
